John de Garis recently joined LCF Edmond de Rothschild (C.I.) Limited as Chief Investement Officier, following 17 years at credit Suisse Asset Management in London, where since 2001 he was Head of European and Sterling Fixed Income.
Chris Waldron, Managing Director of LCF in Guernsey, commented that John's considerable experience would enhance LCF's local investement capability: "We are delighted tha john has joined our team in Guernsey, He has a proven record of success in managing relative and absolute return funds and organising teams of investement professionals at the highest level. We look forward to working with John to develop further our institutional and private wealth management services." Born and raised in Guernsey, John was educated at the Grammar School for Boys before starting his City career at Provident Mutula in 1987. He later joined MAP Fund Managers where he gained experience managing passive equity funds and when MAP was subsequently bought by Credit Suisse, he began t specialise in fixed income.
John returned to Guernsey this summer with his wife and 2 daughters and has welcomed the easier commute from Torteval rather than from Berkshire to Canary Wharf.
The Edmond de Rothschild Group provides asset management, private banking and fund administration services through 37 offices wordwide emmploying 2500 staff and has €50bn under management. Last week it announced that the Bank of China had taken a stake in the business, allowing LCF access to one of the world's fastest growing economies.
